Resorts World Las Vegas, the luxury $4.3-billion integrated resort currently under development in the north end of the Las Vegas Strip, has selected technology provider Konami Gaming as its exclusive gaming system management partner.

Set to swing its doors open in the summer of 2021, Resorts World Las Vegas will feature a 110,000-square-foot casino among a number of other amenities.

The resort’s partnership with Konami enables it to utilize the provider’s SYNKROS gaming technology system that will help the property “streamline, manage, and optimize” its gaming operations by “converting meaningful data into actionable information.”

Resorts World Las Vegas will be the first casino property on the Strip to harness the full suite of tools available through SYNKROS and its enterprise software license.

The dynamic and comprehensive system will provide the casino resort with all the necessary marketing, communication, and tracking tools that are all designed in a manner that aims to enhance player engagement through individually tailored incentive offerings; assess and optimize the casino’s performance in real time through detailed reports and visual analytics, and manage accounting as well as slot and table game operations.

Through their partnership, Resorts World Las Vegas and Konami will also work to constantly improve player experience through a wide range of benefits, including cashless wagering, mobile account management, and loyalty and bonus rewards, among others.

Reinventing the Hospitality Experience in Las Vegas

Commenting on their decision to team up with Konami, Resorts World Las Vegas President Scott Sibella said that “reinventing the hospitality experience in Las Vegas means enhancing our service measures and boosting customer engagement through every touch point of the Resorts World Las Vegas experience, including gaming.”

Mr. Sibella also noted that the implementation of the SYNKROS system will enable them to contact with their casino patrons in real time and provide them with “the most cutting-edge, personalized gaming experience” on the Strip.

Tom Jingoli, Executive Vice President and CCO at Konami, said that “for years, Konami’s SYNKROS has worked to deliver guest experiences at the forefront of innovation, so the chance to create new heights of engagement and entertainment for future Resorts World patrons truly resonates with our shared, enduring vision.”

Resorts World Las Vegas is on track for its planned summer 2021 opening. The property is being developed and will be managed by Malaysian gaming and hospitality group Genting and will be the latest addition to the company’s already rich portfolio of luxury properties in key casino hubs.

When it opens doors, Resorts World Las Vegas will feature a hotel with 3,500 rooms, suites, luxury villas and penthouses in the property’s two towers; a 110,000-square-foot casino with slot machines, table games, private gaming areas, a poker room, and high-limit gaming spaces; and more than 200,000 square feet of food and beverage offerings, including authentic street food experience and Michelin star dining.

The resort will also feature more than 70,000 square feet of retail space with 28 shops offering globally recognized brands; 350,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space; a 220,000-square-foot pool complex with seven unique pool experiences, including an infinity pool with some of the most amazing views of the Las Vegas Strip; a 14,000-square-foot entertainment zone with a race- and sportsbook and featured entertainment; and a 5,000-capacity theater that will be hosting A-list residencies and corporate events.

As mentioned above, the luxury resort will have two towers. Its West Tower will feature a 100,000-square-foot LED screen (one of the largest building displays in the US), while the East Tower will feature a 19,000-square-foot one. A 50-foot diameter video globe that will display more than 6,000 square feet of LED content will also be part of the captivating technology innovations that visitors will be able to see at the property.

Relax Gaming Unveils Ninja Casino Partnership

Provider of online casino content and an aggregation platform Relax Gaming has teamed up with Swedish gambling group Global Gaming to launch its entire portfolio of proprietary gaming titles as well as games by third-party suppliers with the operator’s flagship brand Ninja Casino.

Under the terms of the recently signed content supply deal, Relax Gaming will make available its in-house content, including hit titles Temple Tumble and Money Train, as well as its upcoming releases to Global Gaming and its biggest and most popular brand.

The deal also makes it possible for Ninja Casino to go live with games by third-party suppliers that work with Relax Gaming. Big Time Gaming, Push Gaming, Kalamba Games, and STHLMGAMING are few of those third-party suppliers that will be able to launch their content with the popular online casino brand under its parent company’s partnership with Relax Gaming.

Relax Gaming was established a decade ago and has built a reputation for providing simplified content delivery for the modern online gaming landscape.

Through a single integration, Relax Gaming provides its operator partners with access to more than 1,000 online casino games by a number of suppliers as well as to proprietary titles, including poker and bingo games and a rapidly expanding in-house slots portfolio.

The third-party content is delivered through Relax Gaming’s highly successful Silver Bullet program for commercially represented providers and Powered By program for commercially independent gaming studios.

Latest Major Operator to Join Cluster of Relax Gaming Partners

Global Gaming and its flagship casino operation became the latest high profile partner secured by Relax Gaming, which has expanded its footprint significantly over the past 12 months through partnerships with leading gambling operators, studios, and platform providers.

Commenting on their deal with Ninja Casino, Relax Gaming CCO Daniel Eskola said that it demonstrates that their “offer of technical excellence and business simplicity provides real value to major operators in the European market.”

Mr. Eskola went on that Ninja Casino’s “broad customer base will boost our distribution in both new and existing markets and help us to reach new players.”

Ninja Casino’s Head of Casino, Dirk Camilleri, said that their new partner “not only offers a quality range of content but also a simple aggregation model and user-friendly interface that provides quick and smooth integration.”

Mr. Camilleri also pointed out that their partnership enables them to further advance their offering with industry leading games.

Global Gaming recently received a bit of bad news in relation to its effort to bring the Ninja Casino brand back to the Swedish market after Sweden’s gambling regulator, Spelinspektionen, revoked its license last summer.

The regulatory body last week rejected the requested transfer of Ninja Casino’s .se domain to Global Gaming’s marketing partner Viral Interactive. Spelinspektionen ruled that no Ninja Casino-related domain would be allowed to be launched in Sweden.

High 5 Games, bet365 Forge Casino Content Supply Deal

Independent casino games provider High 5 Games today revealed a major partnership that would significantly expand its foothold across important markets and would provide a wider gambling audience with access to its content portfolio.

The New York-based studio has partnered with online gambling powerhouse bet365 to provide its huge global customer base with access to its entire games library.

Through this partnership, bet365 will further enhance its existing offering with popular slots such as Triple Double Da Vinci Diamond, Goldstruck, and Way Out Wilds, all produced by High 5 Games.

Games by the developer will be made available to the gambling operator’s customers across the globe, including European markets and the United States. High 5 Games’ deal with bet365 will thus enhance significantly its international presence.

Established in 1995, High 5 Games has grown to become one of the largest, if not the largest, independent providers of games for the land-based, digital, and social casino industries. Its content is available across six continents and in more than 150 countries.

High 5 Games’ library currently includes more than 450 games. Through its remote game server, High 5 VAULT, its selection of titles can be integrated with multiple online casinos for real money play.

To ensure that it is a truly global operation, High 5 Games has obtained licenses and certifications from a number of reputable regulators, including the UK Gambling Commission, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority, the Malta Gaming Authority, and the Danish Gambling Authority.

Account Management from Malta

As part of its content supply deal with bet365, High 5 Games will additionally provide the gambling operator with dedicated account management support from the supplier’s Maltese team following the opening of its new office in Sliema.

High 5 Games noted that its recently inked partnership with bet365 demonstrates the growing appeal of the provider’s desktop and mobile gaming content as it has gone live with a number of tier-one companies.

Commenting on their latest important milestone, High 5 Games CEO Anthony Singer said that they have been working with the bet365 team for more than five years and that they are thrilled to have secured a new global agreement that would take the provider and the operator’s partnership to the next level.

Mr. Singer went on that integrating their games directly with bet365 would prove highly beneficial for the operator as it would be able to launch the titles more efficiently.

High 5 Games is expected to deliver its new content to the gambling operator in the coming months.

Last month, the New York-based studio entered a multi-year deal with Iforium. Under that agreement, High 5 Games would integrate its library onto its partner’s Gameflex content aggregator that already contains more than 9,000 titles from over 100 providers.

Casino operations in Macau set to resume from 20 February

Operations in casinos across Macau are set to continue from 20 February, after authorities imposed a two-week closure earlier this month due to fears over the coronavirus.

The 15-day suspension, which started on 5 February, will come to an end, with the region not reporting any new cases of the virus since 10 cases were originally confirmed.

Health officials said earlier on Monday casino operators have 30 days from re-opening to resume full business operations, but business is expected to be limited with strict controls on visitor entry still to be in place.

The coronavirus has infected more than 70,500 people across China, with close to 1,700 deaths reported in the Hubei province alone.

It’s been a tumultuous time for Macau casinos, with gambling revenue dropping to $2.76bn in January, down more than 11% year-on-year due to the outbreak, while Wynn Resorts estimates the virus will cost the company around $2.6m per day.

MGM Sole Casino Bidder to Qualify in Osaka RFP Process

A consortium formed by Las Vegas casino giant MGM Resorts International and Japanese financial services group Orix Corp. has remained the sole candidate deemed suitable to bid for a license to develop and operate an integrated resort with a dedicated casino facility in Osaka.

The announcement was delivered by the Osaka prefectural government on Friday, the last day for interested parties to submit their bids to participate in a request-for-proposals process that was launched in November 2019.

Prefectural officials said Friday that the MGM-Orix consortium was the only qualified applicant to have participated in the process. It is believed that Osaka prefecture and city lawmakers will announce their decision on whether they would partner MGM and Orix to bid jointly for one of three casino licenses up for grabs from the central government by mid-2020.

Three private companies were announced in November as the ones to have remained interested in building and running an integrated casino resort in Osaka. These were MGM and its local partner, the Japanese unit of Macau casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group, and Genting Singapore, a subsidiary of Malaysian casino resort operator Genting Group.

Osaka officials have announced that if the city wins the right to host one of Japan’s first integrated resorts with casinos, the property will be developed on a 49-hectare site on the man-made Yumeshima island in Osaka Bay.

Osaka Lawmakers Move Forward with Casino Bid Despite Bribery Scandal

Osaka prefectural and city lawmakers are looking to move forward with their casino plans, despite the massive bribery scandal that hit Japan late last year.

Tsukasa Akimoto, the lawmaker who oversaw the drafting of the policy that would introduce casino-style gambling in the country, was arrested in December on suspicion that he took bribes from Chinese gambling firm 500.com to spearhead its bid to build a license in Hokkaido.

Mr. Akimoto was indicted on bribery charges and was released on bail earlier this week. He has maintained his innocence.

The lawmaker’s arrest and the snowballing scandal he was at the heart of delayed the publication of the central government’s so-called basic policy on integrated resorts. Japanese legislators decided to push back the publication of the policy in order to add provisions aiming to combat corruption.

The piece of legislation is now expected to be released at some point this month.

Up until this summer, Osaka was considered among the front-runners in the casino race and multiple international casino companies had their sights set namely on the city. However, since Yokohama entered the race in August, many of the those operators focused their efforts on winning the right to build an integrated casino resort in that city.

Las Vegas Sands, Melco Resorts & Entertainment, and Wynn Resorts were among the companies to assert their commitment to running luxury properties in Yokohama, known to be Japan’s second largest city by population.

Wazdan to Add Casino Games Range to Salsa Technology’s Platform

Online casino content provider Wazdan today announced that it has partnered Salsa Technology, formerly Patagonia Entertainment, in a move that will see its games range integrated onto its new partner’s Game Aggregation Platform.

The integration will provide online casinos servicing customers from Latin America and Asia with access to Wazdan’s tantalizing slots portfolio.

Hailing from Latin America, Salsa Technology, which recently rebranded from Patagonia Entertainment, has established itself among the leaders in the provision of iGaming solutions in the region.

It services both land-based and online casino operators through its Game Aggregation Platform. Salsa Technology’s portfolio of technology solutions and games is lab certified in Colombia and Mexico, as well as in Asia. The company anticipates to soon obtain certifications in Europe, as well.

Salsa Technology first entered the iGaming industry as a video bingo game developer. While it has expanded its scope of operations significantly since then, it has been holding onto its status and continues to release video bingo titles to the market.

Wazdan’s Partnership with Salsa Technology

Through its recently penned deal with Salsa Technology, Wazdan’s diverse range of gaming titles will be integrated onto its partner’s Game Aggregation Platform. The addition of content will require a single integration.

Titles that are set to soon become available on Salsa Technology’s platform include Larry the Leprechaun, Butterfly Lovers, Magic Stars 9, and Dragons Lucky 8. Hit slots Los Muertos, Valhalla, and the Magic Stars series will, too, be integrated onto the Game Aggregation Platform.

In addition, Salsa Technology will gain access to the nine new games Wazdan plans to release this year. The casino content studio showcased the new titles during the ICE London conference and exhibition show that took place earlier this month.

As mentioned above, Wazdan’s deal with Salsa Technology will enable the content developer and supplier to expand its presence across various LatAm and Asian markets. Earlier this year, the company debuted its games in the Hungarian iGaming market through a partnership with Grand Casino, a locally licensed online gaming operations that was launched after the reorganization of the Hungarian market in 2018.

Excited to Continue LatAm Expansion

Commenting on their partnership with Salsa Technology, Wazdan Head of Sales Andrzej Hyla said that they are thrilled to partner a leader in the LatAm market and to be able to offer their titles to users of the Game Aggregation Platform.

Mr. Hyla went on that they are excited to continue to expand their reach in Latin America and proud to partner a strong developer like Salsa Technology that will support their expansion.

Victor Arias, Global Business Development Manager at Salsa Technology, said that “Wazdan works wonders with its creative casino content, and we couldn’t be happier to add these titles to our GAP.”

GiG Sells B2C Casino, Betting Brands to Focus on B2B Growth

Gaming Innovation Group announced today that it has agreed to sell its B2C division to gambling operator Betsson Group in a bid to focus on its B2B operations, “reduce complexity and improve efficiency.”

Under the terms of the deal, Betsson will pay the amount of €31 million on the day the transaction closes. The aforementioned amount will include €22.3 million in cash payment for the acquisition, plus a prepaid platform fee of €8.7 million.

GiG will use proceeds from the transaction to repay its SEK300 million 2017-2020 bond.

GiG’s portfolio of B2C brands includes the Rizk, Guts, Kaboo, and Thrills casino and sports betting websites. Under the terms of the deal, Betsson will keep all four brands operational on GiG’s proprietary iGaming platform for at least 30 months.

During the first 24 months, Betsson will pay a premium platform fee based on net gaming revenue generated. Based on the estimated platform fees, the total value of the sale is expected to reach approximately €50 million.

The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close by mid-April.

GiG said that its decision to offload its B2C business was the result of a strategic review the gambling group initiated last November. The review further resulted in an “evolved strategic direction” prompting the company to “reduce complexity and improve efficiency.”

Focus on B2B Business

The sale of its B2C division will free up resources and will enable GiG to fully dedicate its attention on driving and growing its B2B operations. The company explained that it sees “a large and sustainable addressable market for its platform business” as iGaming continues to become a regulated industry in a number of jurisdictions.

GiG also believes that through its omni-channel platform, it is well positioned to capitalize on the continued digital transformation of the global gambling market.

As part of the recently launched strategic review of its operations, GiG has also decided to make its technical platform “sportsbook agnostic” and to team up with other betting technology providers to offer the best possible solutions to its clients.

Under its deal with Betsson, the gambling operator will integrate its sportsbook solution on GiG’s platform. The two companies will thus be able to sell their B2B solutions without conflict of their B2C brands.

To further spearhead the growth of its sportsbook, GiG said that it would seek joint ventures and other collaborations with gambling companies to “release the true asset value” of the solution.

The gambling group plans to seek partners for the growing US market. Here it is important to note that GiG is one of just several B2B providers that offer omni-channel online gambling services in multiple states around the US.

Management’s Comments

Of the acquisition of GiG’s B2C business, Betsson CEO Pontus Lindwall said that they believe the deal offers a good opportunity for his company to consolidate, create synergies, and apply our core B2C skills and marketing insights to scale these assets to their true potential.”

Mr. Lindwall went on that their agreement with GiG will also further strengthen and expand their outreach and growth potential for their proprietary sportsbook solution and payments platforms in the international B2B market.

GiG Chief Executive Officer Richard Brown commented that the transaction enables them to focus their efforts towards the B2B segment and that while “offering both B2C and B2B services had synergies” in the past, the “current conflicting priorities of the two business areas, and increased complexity in the market, have lessened the potential offering on both fronts and our ability to sign new customers.”

Of the integration of Betsson’s proprietary sportsbook into their platform, Mr. Brown said that this would not only provide “cost saving synergies”, but would also allow them to offer one of “the most well-renowned European sportsbooks to our current and future B2B partners.”

Microgaming Rolls Out Content with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino

In a week full of major announcements, Microgaming revealed its latest important partnership that strengthened its foothold in a big regulated market.

The company announced Thursday that its wide range of online casino content has gone live with Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, the online gambling operation of Swedish state-run operator Svenska Spel.

Established in 1997 and headquartered in Visby, Svenska Spel was up until last year one of the few state-managed Swedish companies authorized to provide gambling services on the territory of the country.

Following the reorganization of the Swedish market in January 2019, Svenska Spel launched its online gaming and sports betting division – Svenska Spel Sport & Casino – to enter Sweden’s regulated iGaming space and compete with international gambling companies for a slice of it.

After the successful completion of integration with Microgaming’s content aggregation platform, which includes hundreds of proprietary gaming titles as well as content by third-party provider partners, Svenska Spel Sport & Casino can now provide its players across Sweden with an engaging line-up.

Swedish customers of the former gambling monopoly can access Microgaming’s popular branded slots such as Game of Thrones and Lara Croft Temples and Tombs as well as a mix of new and hit classics such as Immortal Romance, Book of Oz, and Agent Jane Blonde Returns.

A Significant Market

Microgaming entered Sweden’s regulated market on January 1, 2019, the very day that the country’s new gambling law took effect. Since then, the provider has partnered a number of major operators licensed to operate in Sweden.

Just as the rest of the industry, Microgaming considers the Scandinavian nation a significant market, as it is one of Europe’s largest markets in terms of revenue generated.

Of their recent partnership with Svenska Spel, Microgaming Chief Operating Officer Andrew Clucas said that the Swedish operator is a tremendous addition to our sizeable customer base in this key strategic market”. Mr. Clucas added that they are pleased to welcome Svenska Spel Sport & Casino to their family.

Jonas Nygren, VP Casino at Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, commented that they are delighted to collaborate with Microgaming and to gain access to its portfolio of “high quality, innovative content.” The Svenska Spel official went on that the addition of Microgaming’s catalog will certainly enhance the overall gameplay experience they offer to their gambling customers.

Aside from announcing important partnerships, Microgaming is also busy preparing its newest titles for their scheduled February release. The next game to join its ever-expanding portfolio will be Seven 7’s, an online slot created by Crazy Tooth Studios exclusively for Microgaming. The slot, themed around the hidden treasures of the seven seas, is set to hit the market on February 18.

Skrill, NETELLER Now Available with Casino, Sportsbook Operator Betzest

Online casino and sports betting operator Betzest has added digital payment services providers Skrill and NETELLER to the list of payment methods already available to its customers.

Under a recently signed deal with the two eWallet providers, Betzest players can now use them to both deposit money to gamble on the Betzest website or withdraw their winnings. All Betzest accounts holders are offered real-time payments, the operator said in press release that hit the wire this week.

Both Skrill and NETELLER are owned by multinational online payments giant Paysafe Group. The two eWallet providers offer instant and safe transactions and are particularly popular with online gambling operators and their customers due to the quality of their service and the quick and effortless movement of gambling money between casino and sports betting websites and bettors/players.

News about Betzest’s partnership with Skrill and NETELLER came on the heels of a recently closed similar deal with another major eWallet. Earlier this month, the operator announced that it has added ecoPayz to its cashier and the payment solution is now available to its players.

NETELLER itself has recently teamed with another online gambling operator in a move that marked the payment solutions provider’s return to the Brazilian market after a two-year absence. Since December 2019, gamblers across Brazil have been able to use NETELLER to deposit and withdraw money with rapidly growing online gambling operator BetWarrior.

A Proactive Start to a Busy Year

The addition of more payment methods has been part of Betzest’s push to grow its operations. The online gambling operator opened shop in the summer of 2018 and has rapidly increased its presence across different markets as well as its offering in a bid to cement itself as a leading online casino and sports betting operator.

Of their partnership with Skrill and NETELLER, Betzest Founder and CMO Marius Filip said that they are delighted to announce another major partnership and that the two payment service providers “will play an essential role in helping Betzest to facilitate transactions in key European & International target markets.”

Mr. Filip went on that Betzest has had “a tremendously pro-active start to 2020 with a remarkable collection of world-class payment and casino providers on the way.”

Betzest announced late last month that it has obtained a B2C license from the Malta Gaming Authority. A license by the Maltese gambling regulator will now enable the operator to offer its casino and sportsbook services to additional European markets.

Of their newly granted MGA license, Mr. Filip said last month that they see it “as the biggest milestone” in their rapid expansion into EU and international markets.

888casino to Add Playson’s Full Casino Games Library

Online casino content supplier Playson has secured another major partner as part of its strategy to grow its regulated presence across multiple European markets.

The iGaming provider today announced that it has teamed up with 888casino, the iGaming brand of Gibraltar-headquartered online gambling group 888 Holdings.

Under the terms of the recently signed deal, Playson has agreed to provide 888casino with access to its full library of online slots, including hit titles Solar Queen and Red Chilli Wins as well as new releases such as Fruit Xtreme, the second installment in the provider’s Funky Fruits series.

Playson will integrate its content with 888casino via the Pariplay platform, it also became known. Slots by the game developer will initially go live with the brand’s operations in Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Italy, and Romania. This is set to happen by the end of this year’s first quarter.

Launches in UK and across Gibraltar territories will follow later this year.

888casino is the latest major online casino operation to opt for Playson’s games library. In December, LeoVegas’ popular iGaming brand Royal Panda added content by the supplier to boost its existing offering. LeoVegas’ flagship operation of the same name went live with Playson’s titles in the spring of 2019.

Betzest, Kindred Group, Winbet, and Ninja Casino were also among the big industry names to integrate Playson content last year.

Extending European Reach

Of their partnership with 888casino, Playson Senior Account Manager Christos Zoulianitis said that they are thrilled to be joining forces with such a well-established online gambling operator that has been at the forefront of the industry for well over a decade.

Mr. Zoulianitis went on that their games portfolio will certainly be “a great addition” to 888casino’s offering and that the launch of their titles with the iGaming brand will help them further extend their reach across regulated markets in Europe.

888casino Senior Vice President Guy Cohen commented that they are focused on expanding their offering to customers by both developing proprietary titles and adding games by third-party providers to their unique platform, which they introduced last year.

Mr. Cohen also noted that Playson, their latest content partner, has a fantastic team which has developed “a unique portfolio of games” and that they are excited to add these games to 888casino and thus enhance their player’s experience.

Playson’s portfolio currently includes more than 60 HTML5 games. The company is focused on growing and cementing its foothold across regulated European markets through supply deals with major operators.

Playson is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission, Romania’s gambling regulator ONJN, and the Malta Gaming Authority, and its titles are certified in a number of other jurisdictions across Europe.
